A Message From Secretary Tom Arnold
Dear Medicaid Provider:
This year has been filled with economic challenges for health care providers and payers. And, yet, both you and our Agency
team have continued to focus on improving how we can work together to make health care better for Medicaid recipients.
In November we began piloting an exciting effort to provide free Internet-based personal health records to Medicaid mothers
and their babies. Provided by HealthTrio and called MyFlorida Health Ebook and eBaby
Book, this new tool gives Medicaid recipients the ability to track and save important information about their childrens’
health. Our focus in these endeavors has been to provide patients with tools that empower them to become active partners in
their health care and to enhance their relationship with you, their health care provider. With the addition of claims data
to the health record in spring of 2010, Medicaid recipients will be able to track, retrieve, and print information about their
health care visits, procedures, medications, immunizations, allergies, and more. And they can access their secure record through
the Internet from any computer at any location. Other features include:
- Family History: Assists users in tracking their family history, and allows them to print and share this information with
their health care provider.
- Health Tracker: Users can chart their personal health information such as weight, blood sugar levels, blood pressure,
and more.
- Wallet Card: Encourages users to enter emergency contact and key health information to be printed and carried with them
at all times.
- Continuity of Care Record: Allows users to print out their full health record and share this information with their health
care provider.

As you know, we are faced with even greater challenges ahead. It is with renewed commitment that we look forward to meeting
these challenges with you – and finding new and better ways to work with you to serve Medicaid recipients.
Yours truly,
 Secretary
Agency for Health Care Administration
